Embraer ERJ-145, registered HB-JAK, flew for Swiss International Air Lines as part of the carrier's regional jet fleet supporting short-haul European routes from Swiss hubs including Zurich and Geneva. Swiss operated a fleet of ERJ-145 family aircraft to connect smaller European cities and thinner routes that complemented its mainline Airbus operations. As a 50-seat regional jet, the ERJ-145 gave Swiss flexibility on routes with lower demand, such as connections to regional UK airports, reflecting the type's broader popularity among European flag carriers for feeding traffic into larger hub networks during the 2000s and 2010s.
Designed as a short-range, small-capacity regional airliner, the Embraer ERJ 145 was first flown on August 11th, 1995. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
