McDonnell Douglas MD-11, registered B-151, flew for China Airlines as part of the Taiwanese flag carrier's fleet of MD-11 widebodies supporting long-haul international routes during the 1990s. China Airlines operated the MD-11 alongside its 747 fleet before eventually retiring the trijet in favor of more modern twin-engine widebodies. The aircraft was photographed at various Asian hubs including Hong Kong's former Kai Tak Airport and Bangkok during the mid-1990s, reflecting China Airlines' extensive Asian and transpacific network during a period when the carrier relied heavily on the MD-11's long-range trijet capability for its international expansion.
Designed as a wide-bodied passenger and freight transport, the MD11 was first flown on January 10th, 1990. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
