Boeing 737-7ES, registered 65-328, serial number 35328, serves the Republic of Korea Air Force as an E-737 "Peace Eye" airborne early warning and control aircraft. Delivered starting September 2011 as one of four aircraft in South Korea's AEW&C fleet, the Peace Eye is based on the commercial 737-700 airframe fitted with Northrop Grumman's Multi-role Electronically Scanned Array radar, providing critical long-range surveillance across the Korean Peninsula. Operated by the 271st AEW&C Squadron under the 51st Air Control Wing from Gimhae Air Base, the aircraft strengthens South Korea's integrated air defense network alongside ground radar and fighter assets. Designed as a smaller, short-ranged alternative to the Boeing 707 and 727, the 737 was first flown on April 9th, 1967. Over its long operational carreer, the 737 has spawned numerous variants ranging in capacity from less than 100 to more than 200 seats. In fact, the 737 series is the best-selling jetliner in aviation history with more than 6,500 aircraft manufactured to date and more than 4,500 still in service with over 500 airlines around the world.
