US Navy C-40A Clipper BuNo 165829, construction number 29979, was the first of the Navy's C-40A fleet and was delivered in December 2000. Based on the Boeing 737-700, the Clipper provides high speed transport of personnel and cargo for Fleet Logistics Support operations. Aircraft 165829 initially served with VR-59 and was later assigned to VR-58, where it carried the name "City of Jacksonville" and code JV-829. The C-40A replaced aging C-9B Skytrain II transports, providing greater range, payload capacity, reliability, and efficiency for worldwide Navy logistics missions.
