Boeing 747-4B5/BCF, serial number 26396, flew for Korean Air and Korean Air Cargo from 1993 to 2014 as HL7486, serving the airline's long-haul passenger and later converted-freighter operations. After leaving Korean Air, the aircraft joined Kalitta Air in 2017 as N496BC before being re-registered N709CK in 2019, continuing its cargo career with the American freight carrier on international routes including flights between Hong Kong and Seoul. The aircraft's more than three-decade journey from Korean Air passenger service through cargo conversion to a second career with Kalitta illustrates the extended operational life common among converted 747 freighters.
Designed as a large capacity airliner and freight hauler, the 747 was first flown on February 9th, 1969. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
