Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, serial number 34503, registered JA874A, flies for All Nippon Airways wearing a "Future Promise" special livery and served as one of two ANA aircraft, alongside 787-9 JA871A, selected to test a Nikon-developed "shark-skin" riblet surface film aimed at reducing air friction and CO2 emissions as part of ANA's Green Jet sustainability initiative. Domestically focused as a 787-8 for Japan's high-capacity market, JA874A has since transferred to Air Japan, ANA's low-cost international subsidiary, reflecting the aircraft's role in both the airline's environmental research program and its evolving fleet deployment strategy.
Designed as a mid-sized, wide-body airliner and constructed out of mostly composite material, the 787 was first flown on December 15th, 2009. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
