Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, registered HZ-AR13, was delivered to the Saudi Ministry of Finance and leased to Saudia in July 2017. In April 2021, the aircraft was repainted in a special "Year of Arabic Calligraphy" livery, a collaboration between Saudia and the Saudi Ministry of Culture celebrating Arabic script as part of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 cultural initiatives. Alongside sister aircraft HZ-ARD, the calligraphy-themed Dreamliner flew to destinations including London, Madrid, Dubai, Riyadh, and Dammam. The celebratory livery was extended for a second year due to its popularity, reflecting Saudia's broader strategy of using its aircraft as cultural ambassadors.
