Boeing 787-9, registered LN-LNO and named after Raet National Park in Arendal, Norway, became the first aircraft painted in Norse Atlantic Airways' distinctive longship livery, unveiled in August 2021. Previously flown by Norwegian Air Shuttle, where its tail featured author Roald Dahl, the ex-Norwegian jet was leased from AerCap as part of Norse Atlantic's fleet of 15 Dreamliners assembled for its 2022 transatlantic launch. As the airline's inaugural painted aircraft, LN-LNO symbolized the Scandinavian low-cost long-haul startup's ambition to fill the gap left by Norwegian's retreat from transatlantic routes, connecting European cities to the United States.
Designed as a mid-sized, wide-body airliner and constructed out of mostly composite material, the 787 was first flown on December 15th, 2009. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
