McDonnell Douglas MD-11CF, registered PH-MCP, was the first of six new MD-11s ordered by Martinair, first flying in October 1994 and delivered in December of that year. As Martinair's launch MD-11, it anchored the Dutch carrier's fleet of Convertible Freighter and pure freighter variants used for both cargo and passenger operations over more than two decades. PH-MCP became the last Martinair MD-11 in service, departing Amsterdam for the final time on July 8, 2016, bound for Victorville, California, for storage and eventual parting out, closing the chapter on the Netherlands' last commercial trijet operations.
Designed as a wide-bodied passenger and freight transport, the MD11 was first flown on January 10th, 1990. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
