Airbus A350-900, serial number registered 10+01 and named "Konrad Adenauer" after West Germany's first chancellor, was delivered to the Luftwaffe's Special Air Mission Wing in November 2022 as the second of three A350s ordered to replace Germany's aging A340 fleet for VIP and government transport. Despite being the second aircraft delivered, it carries the flagship registration 10+01, and was the first to receive a complete government cabin featuring offices, a lounge, and premium seating for delegations. Converted by Lufthansa Technik at a cost including 288 million euros for cabin work, the aircraft supports Germany's strategic long-haul political air travel.
