Boeing 747-4(69)M, the only 747-400 operated by Kuwait Airways, served as the flagship aircraft of the Emir of Kuwait from 1994 until the carrier's mainline 747 operations ended. Registered 9K-ADE, the combi-configured jumbo jet carried both VIP upper-deck accommodations for state use and a lower deck used for commercial passenger flights, with 32 first class and 24 business class seats plus 244 economy seats. The 25-year-old aircraft, powered by General Electric CF6-80C2B1F engines, flew its final commercial service in January 2019 before being ferried to Enschede, Netherlands, for parts recovery and scrapping by AELS.
