Boeing 757-28S, serial number 29217, was converted to special freighter configuration and now flies for YTO Cargo Airlines as B-2859. The aircraft joined YTO's growing 757 freighter fleet after the carrier's first 757-200PCF was redelivered by HAECO Xiamen in December 2017, marking YTO's shift toward higher-capacity aircraft as e-commerce and cross-border logistics demand grew. YTO Cargo Airlines, affiliated with the Chinese express delivery company YTO Express, has used aircraft like this to expand international freight routes under China's Belt and Road Initiative, including services to destinations such as Tashkent and Manila as the carrier scaled beyond its original 737 freighters.
Designed as a narrow-bodied, twin-engined airliner to replace the 727, the 757 was first flown on February 19th, 1982. Developed in tandem with the wide-bodied 767 twinjet, both aircraft share a common digital cockpit layout and are operated by a two man flight crew. Thanks to a proven reliability track-record, the 757 is approved for extended twin engine operations (ETOPS) making it a popular choice for airlines flying transatlantic routes.
