Ilyushin Il-86, serial number 51483210099, was delivered new to China Xinjiang Airlines in 1993, one of three Il-86s exported by Russia and making Xinjiang the only airline outside the former Soviet Union to acquire the type new. Registered B-2018, it served on Xinjiang's trunk route to Beijing and international connections from Urumqi to Moscow, Bishkek, Almaty, Tashkent, Novosibirsk, and Islamabad. Following China Xinjiang's merger into China Southern Airlines, the aircraft was returned to Russia in 2003, reregistered RA-86143. It later flew for Kras Air and Tatarstan Airlines before being stored in Moscow and broken up by the end of 2010.
