Airbus A321-231, serial number 4198, wore the Airbus test registration D-AVZE before delivery to Shanghai Airlines as B-6642. Following Shanghai Airlines' full integration into China Eastern Airlines' operations, the aircraft has since appeared in China Eastern livery, reflecting the broader consolidation of Shanghai Airlines as a subsidiary brand within the China Eastern Group. The aircraft has operated from Shanghai's Pudong hub and other Chinese airports, part of the group's extensive A321 narrowbody fleet used across domestic and regional routes.
