Boeing 757-25C, converted to freighter configuration, carries the registration B-2848 and operates cargo services within China. Photographed at Shenzhen in 2016 under a "New airline" designation, the aircraft represents one of many former Chinese passenger 757s repurposed for freight duty as airlines retired the type from scheduled passenger service in favor of newer, more fuel-efficient jets. Details on this airframe's original delivery and full ownership chain are limited in available records, though B-28xx series registrations trace to mainland Chinese carriers that operated large 757 fleets through the 1990s before many were later converted for cargo operations.
Designed as a narrow-bodied, twin-engined airliner to replace the 727, the 757 was first flown on February 19th, 1982. Developed in tandem with the wide-bodied 767 twinjet, both aircraft share a common digital cockpit layout and are operated by a two man flight crew. Thanks to a proven reliability track-record, the 757 is approved for extended twin engine operations (ETOPS) making it a popular choice for airlines flying transatlantic routes.
