Airbus A350-900, registered B-1070, was originally ordered by Azul Brazilian Airlines but was redirected to Hainan Airlines after Azul declined the order and Hainan's parent company HNA Group divested its stake. Delivered to Hainan in October 2018 as the airline's second A350, it initially flew domestic routes before being deployed on the Beijing to Boston route starting May 2019, seating 334 passengers including 33 business class seats. The aircraft was withdrawn from service in February 2020 amid Hainan's fleet reduction during the pandemic and was later sold, eventually joining Iberia's fleet by 2023.
