Azul took delivery of its first A350-900, originally registered F-WTAO (MSN 168), a 4.9-year-old ex-Hong Kong Airlines aircraft owned by AerCap. Although sourced from Hong Kong Airlines, the jet had initially been ordered by Azul itself before being placed with the HNA Group subsidiary. The aircraft landed at Viracopos Airport, Azul's main hub, in September 2022, then reregistered as PR-AOY. It initially flew Azul's Orlando route before being transferred to Paris-Orly. PR-AOY stopped flying for Azul on January 30 and was returned to its lessor, ending its short run with the Brazilian carrier.
