Airbus A321neo F-WWAB carried an Airbus test and demonstration registration associated with the manufacturer's A321neo program. The A321neo combines the stretched fuselage and high passenger capacity of the original A321 with new-generation engines, aerodynamic improvements, and large wingtip Sharklets. These changes substantially reduce fuel consumption and extend operating range while retaining commonality with the wider A320 family. Airbus development and demonstration aircraft have been used for certification testing, performance evaluation, customer demonstrations, and promotional flights. The A321neo entered commercial service in 2017 and quickly became one of Airbus's most important products, particularly for airlines seeking greater capacity and range without moving to a widebody aircraft.
Designed as a lengthened-fuselage version of the highly successful A320 design, the A321 was first flown on March 11th, 1993. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
