Airbus A300-608ST Beluga, serial number 776, entered service with Airbus Transport International as F-GSTD. Delivered in December 1998 as the fourth of five original Beluga transports, the aircraft was designed to carry oversized Airbus components between production facilities across Europe. Its enormous upper fuselage accommodated complete wings, fuselage sections, and other loads that could not be transported by conventional freighters. Powered by two General Electric CF6 engines, F-GSTD remained in Airbus service for more than two decades. After later flying with Airbus Beluga Transport, it was retired and preserved at the Aeroscopia museum in Toulouse in June 2026.
Designed as a wide-bodied medium range transport, the A300 was first flown on July 8th, 1983. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
