McDonnell Douglas MD-90-30, operated by China Eastern Airlines as B-2265. The aircraft was part of China Eastern's substantial MD-90 fleet, which was introduced during the 1990s as a modern successor to the carrier's MD-82 and MD-83 aircraft. Powered by International Aero Engines V2500 turbofans, B-2265 was primarily employed on domestic Chinese trunk routes from Shanghai and other China Eastern bases. The airline became one of the world's most important MD-90 operators and also received aircraft assembled in China under the Shanghai Aviation Industrial Corporation program. China Eastern progressively retired its MD-90 fleet during the 2000s as Airbus A320-family aircraft became the backbone of its narrowbody operations.
Designed as a stretched and more powerful MD-80, the MD-90 was first flown on February 22nd, 1993. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
