The aircraft was built in 2004 and originally delivered to Aeroflot on May 13, 2004, retaining VP-BWK throughout its Aeroflot career. It transferred to newly formed Aurora Airlines in late 2013 as part of the consolidation of Aeroflot's Russian Far East operations. Based primarily at Vladivostok and Khabarovsk, it operated domestic and international routes throughout eastern Russia and northeast Asia. Following changes to Russian aircraft registration after 2022, VP-BWK was re-registered RA-73678 in April 2022. The aircraft remains in service with Aurora under its Russian registration.
