Airbus A340-642, serial number 360, entered service with Airbus Industrie as F-WWCA. First flown in April 2001, the aircraft was the prototype A340-600 and played a central role in the flight-test and certification program for the stretched long-range airliner. Powered by four Rolls-Royce Trent 500 turbofan engines, F-WWCA demonstrated the A340-600's extended range, high passenger capacity, and advanced flight systems. The aircraft was also used extensively for demonstrations and appeared at major international air shows. After completing its Airbus test career, F-WWCA was preserved at the Aeroscopia aviation museum in Toulouse.
Designed as a wide-bodied, long-haul passenger transport, the A340 was first flown on October 25th, 1991. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
