Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, registered N789EX, operated by Boeing as an engineering and demonstration aircraft. The aircraft has been used in support of Boeing's 787 Dreamliner development program rather than regular airline passenger service. Powered by two General Electric GEnx turbofan engines, the 787-9 combines advanced composite construction with excellent intercontinental range and fuel efficiency. N789EX has supported flight testing, engineering work, and demonstration activities associated with continued development of the Dreamliner family, helping Boeing evaluate systems and improvements while showcasing the capabilities of its highly successful long range twin-engine widebody.
Designed as a mid-sized, wide-body airliner and constructed out of mostly composite material, the 787 was first flown on December 15th, 2009. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
