Boeing 727-200   9.25"   6.5"

Boeing 727-200 operated by Mexicana as XA-HOV. Like other members of Mexicana's large 727 fleet, XA-HOV was used extensively on domestic and regional international routes from Mexico City. Mexicana became one of the world's most prominent Boeing 727 operators, using the rugged trijet on routes ranging from heavily traveled trunk services to airports where its excellent field performance was particularly valuable. XA-HOV appeared in the carrier's colorful 1980s and 1990s liveries, an era when individual Mexicana aircraft could be distinguished by brightly colored tail designs. The airline gradually retired its 727s as Boeing 757s, Airbus A320-family aircraft and Fokker 100s took over their routes during the 1990s.

Boeing 727-200

Designed as a smaller, short/medium-ranged complement to the 707, the 727 was first flown on February 9th, 1963.
