Boeing 717-23S, serial number 55066, line number 5054, operated by Volotea as EC-MGT. Built in 2001, the aircraft was originally delivered to Spanish carrier AeBal as EC-HUZ and later served Quantum Air under the same registration. It moved to Finland in 2010, becoming OH-BLM with Blue1, before joining Volotea in 2015 as EC-MGT. The Rolls-Royce BR715-powered aircraft became part of Volotea's distinctive fleet of Boeing 717s, operating thinner routes throughout southern and western Europe. EC-MGT remained with Volotea until 2021 as the airline phased out its 717 fleet in favor of Airbus A319s and A320s, ending two decades of European passenger service.
Designed as a stretched and modified DC-9, the MD-95 was re-christened as the 717 before entering production when Boeing merged with McDonnell Douglas in 1997. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
