Airbus A319-133CJ, serial number 1212, operated by the Luftwaffe as 15+03. Delivered new in 2000 as VP-CVX, the aircraft originally served Volkswagen Air Service as a corporate transport before being acquired by the German government. After modification by Lufthansa Technik, it briefly carried military test registration 98+11 before becoming 15+03 in June 2019. Unlike Germany's VIP-configured government transports, 15+03 was specially equipped for Open Skies Treaty observation missions, carrying sophisticated photographic and sensor equipment. Following the suspension of Open Skies operations, the aircraft continued in German military service and remains active with the Luftwaffe in 2026.
Designed as a shortened-fuselage version of the highly successful A320 design, the A319 was first flown on August 25th, 1995. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
