The Ukrainian Air Force acquired the Su-24 during the Soviet era and uses the aircraft primarily for precision strikes against ground and naval targets. The Su-24s have been modernized to improve avionics and weapon systems, enhancing their combat effectiveness. They have seen active service in various conflicts, including the ongoing conflict with Russian-backed separatists in Eastern Ukraine. The Ukrainian Air Force's Su-24 aircraft have been equipped with British-supplied Storm Shadow missiles, enhancing their long-range strike capabilities. These modifications enable precision attacks on high-value targets over 250 kilometers away, providing a significant strategic advantage in ongoing conflicts.
