Airbus A380-800, test registration F-WWSL, built for Skymark Airlines of Japan. Skymark ordered the A380 for an ambitious move into long-haul international flying, but severe financial problems developed before deliveries could begin. Airbus had already assembled and painted aircraft in Skymark colors when the order collapsed in 2014. The undelivered A380s became symbols of the airline's unsuccessful widebody expansion and subsequent restructuring. Completed Skymark airframes were later redirected to Emirates after modification. F-WWSL therefore represents an unusual A380 that reached an advanced stage of production in one customer's colors but never entered service with that airline.
Designed as the world's largest airliner, the double-decker A380 was first flown on April 27th, 2005. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
