Boeing 767-300BCF, operated by Icelandair Cargo as TF-ISP. Converted from passenger configuration, the 767-300BCF gained a large main-deck cargo door and reinforced floor for containerized freight. It was employed on time-sensitive freight services linking major logistics centers and regional markets. The airframe's cargo career reflects the strong demand for reliable freighters capable of carrying express parcels, general merchandise, machinery, and other high-value shipments. Its operator used the aircraft as part of a wider freight network in which dependable overnight schedules and rapid loading were essential.
Designed as a wide-bodied, twin-engined airliner to fill the niche between the narrow-bodied 707 and wide-bodied 747, the 767 was first flown on September 26th, 1981. Developed in tandem with the narrow-bodied 757 twinjet, both aircraft share a common digital cockpit layout and are operated by a two man flight crew. Thanks to a proven reliability track-record, the 767 is approved for extended twin engine operations (ETOPS) making it a popular choice for airlines flying transatlantic routes.
