COMAC C919, operated by China Southern Airlines. The C919 represents China's first domestically developed large narrowbody jet aimed at the mainstream single-aisle market. China Southern Airlines became part of the early airline introduction of the type as COMAC moved from certification and China Eastern's initial operations toward broader fleet deployment. The aircraft uses CFM International LEAP-1C engines and is intended primarily for high-frequency domestic routes. Its appearance in China Southern Airlines service marks an important stage in the diversification of China's commercial aircraft fleet beyond the long-established Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 families.
Designed as a narrow-bodied, twin-engined airliner, the C919 was first flown on May 5th, 2017. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
