Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, operated by China Eastern Airlines as B-206K. The 787-9 uses extensive composite construction and new-generation engines to provide long range with lower fuel consumption than earlier widebodies. China Eastern used the aircraft from its Shanghai hubs, supporting the carrier's rapid domestic and international expansion and its transition toward newer-generation Airbus and Boeing fleets. The airframe represents the period in which long-range twinjets increasingly replaced older three- and four-engine aircraft, offering airlines lower fuel burn and maintenance costs while retaining the range needed for nonstop international flying.
Designed as a mid-sized, wide-body airliner and constructed out of mostly composite material, the 787 was first flown on December 15th, 2009. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
