Boeing 757-200, operated by TNT as OE-LFB. The aircraft served in dedicated cargo operations, carrying express freight, general merchandise, machinery, and other high-value or time-sensitive loads. Its combination of payload, range, and dependable performance made the type well suited to demanding freight schedules and major logistics hubs. The operator used aircraft of this family to connect important cargo markets while supporting rapid loading and turnaround. Freighter service highlights the versatility and durability of the basic airframe, allowing proven aircraft designs to remain economically useful for many years in worldwide logistics operations.
Designed as a narrow-bodied, twin-engined airliner to replace the 727, the 757 was first flown on February 19th, 1982. Developed in tandem with the wide-bodied 767 twinjet, both aircraft share a common digital cockpit layout and are operated by a two man flight crew. Thanks to a proven reliability track-record, the 757 is approved for extended twin engine operations (ETOPS) making it a popular choice for airlines flying transatlantic routes.
