Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, serial number 62736, line number 936, operated by Bamboo Airways as VN-A819 and named "Ha Long Bay." Delivered on December 19, 2019, VN-A819 was Bamboo Airways' first Boeing 787 and carried special "1st 787" markings. The aircraft helped transform the rapidly growing Vietnamese carrier from a primarily domestic operator into a long-haul airline, flying international services including routes to Europe. After Bamboo Airways dramatically reduced its widebody operation, VN-A819 left the fleet and became EI-HMI. The aircraft subsequently found another major-airline career with Austrian Airlines as OE-LPM, making its Bamboo service only the first chapter of its operational history.
