Boeing 777-367, serial number 33702, operated by Cathay Pacific as B-HNM. The aircraft first flew on October 6, 2003 and was delivered to Cathay Pacific on October 30, 2003. Powered by two Rolls-Royce Trent 892 engines, B-HNM is a standard 777-300 rather than the later 777-300ER. The aircraft has spent its career with Cathay Pacific, operating high-capacity regional and medium-haul services from Hong Kong. It was stored at Alice Springs, Australia from August 2020 until October 2023 before returning to commercial service in December 2023. Designed as a wide-bodied, twin-engined airliner to compete with the Airbus A330/A340 and the McDonnell Douglas MD-11, the 777 was first flown on June 12th, 1994. A pair of the world's largest diameter turbofan engines power the aircraft which currently holds the record for world's largest twin-engined airliner. The 777 was Boeing's first fly-by-wire airliner, featuring complete glass cockpit displays and flight envelope protection.
