Airbus KC-30A Multi Role Tanker Transport, operated by the Royal Australian Air Force as A39-002. Based on the Airbus A330-200, the KC-30A combines strategic passenger and cargo transport with advanced aerial refueling capability. Powered by two General Electric CF6 engines, A39-002 can refuel receiver aircraft using both a centerline flying boom and underwing hose-and-drogue pods. The aircraft serves with No. 33 Squadron at RAAF Base Amberley and supports Australian and allied operations throughout the Indo-Pacific and beyond. Its long range, large fuel capacity, and flexible cabin make the KC-30A one of the RAAF's most important force-multiplier aircraft.
Designed as a aerial refuelling tanker version of the A330 airliner, the A330 Multi Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) was first flown on June 15th, 2007. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
