N8290V is a Boeing 787-10 built for use as a Boeing flight-test and evaluation aircraft during the continued refinement of the Dreamliner program. Delivered in Boeing house colors, it supported system verification, software updates, and performance checks tied to production-standard improvements for the -10 variant. Outfitted with flight-test instrumentation and data-collection systems, it participated in reliability flights, airport compatibility trials, and customer demonstrations showcasing the 787-10's efficiency and long-range capability. Although not assigned to an airline, N8290V served as a flexible platform for ongoing development, helping validate incremental upgrades to avionics, cabin systems, and manufacturing processes across the Dreamliner family.
Designed as a mid-sized, wide-body airliner and constructed out of mostly composite material, the 787 was first flown on December 15th, 2009. © Copyright 2003-2025 The Flying Mule, Inc.
