Boeing 757-28A(F), serial number 24605, entered service with Cargojet Airways as C-GCJT. The aircraft operates as a dedicated freighter supporting Cargojet's overnight cargo network across Canada and international destinations. Configured with a large main deck cargo door and reinforced floor, the 757-200F carries containerized and palletized freight between major logistics hubs. Powered by Rolls Royce RB211 engines, the aircraft offers strong payload capability and efficient fuel consumption. C-GCJT plays an important role in Cargojet's time sensitive cargo operations linking Canadian distribution centers with global freight networks.
Designed as a narrow-bodied, twin-engined airliner to replace the 727, the 757 was first flown on February 19th, 1982. Developed in tandem with the wide-bodied 767 twinjet, both aircraft share a common digital cockpit layout and are operated by a two man flight crew. Thanks to a proven reliability track-record, the 757 is approved for extended twin engine operations (ETOPS) making it a popular choice for airlines flying transatlantic routes. A total of 1050 aircraft were built before production ceased in 2004, however many airframes have since been retrofitted with drag-reducing blended winglets to help improve fuel economy. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
