Boeing 747-341, serial number 24107, line number 702, delivered new to VARIG as PP-VOB on May 13, 1988. PP-VOB was one of three full-passenger 747-300s ordered by VARIG following the success of its earlier 747-300 combis. Configured for 399 passengers in three classes, it operated VARIG's prestigious intercontinental routes from Brazil to North America, Europe, Asia, and other destinations. PP-VOB left VARIG in January 2000, becoming N824DS before joining Air Atlanta Icelandic as TF-ATI. Its service represents the peak of VARIG's Boeing 747 era, when the Jumbo Jet was the flagship of Brazil's international airline.
