Boeing 747-217B, operated by CP Air as C-FCRE and named "Empress of Asia." The aircraft joined CP Air's small but prestigious Boeing 747 fleet and wore the airline's striking orange, red, and silver color scheme. CP Air used its 747s on major long-haul services from western Canada across the Pacific and on other high-density international routes. The aircraft later became part of Canadian Pacific's successor operations as the airline evolved through CP Air, Canadian Pacific Air Lines, and Canadian Airlines International. C-FCRE represents the period when the Boeing 747 served as CP Air's flagship and symbolized the Canadian carrier's ambitions in the international long-haul market.
Designed as a large capacity airliner and freight hauler, the 747 was first flown on February 9th, 1969. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
