Boeing 737-9 MAX, serial number 67609, entered service with United Airlines as N77575 in August 2023. The aircraft joined United's rapidly expanding 737 MAX fleet for domestic and international services throughout North America, the Caribbean, and Latin America. Powered by two CFM International LEAP-1B engines, N77575 combines increased passenger capacity and range with improved fuel efficiency and reduced emissions compared with previous-generation 737s. The aircraft is part of United's large fleet modernization program and remains active with the carrier, supporting high-demand routes throughout its extensive hub-and-spoke network. The Boeing 737 MAX is an American narrow-body aircraft series being developed by Boeing Commercial Airplanes as the fourth generation of the Boeing 737, succeeding the Boeing 737 Next Generation. The first flight was on January 29, 2016. The 737 MAX is based on earlier 737 designs but re-engined with more efficient CFM International LEAP-1B along with aerodynamic improvements, most notably split-tip winglets, and airframe modifications.
