Boeing 727-100, operated by Trans World Airlines as N891TW. The aircraft served during an important period in the development of commercial jet travel, when airlines were rapidly expanding route networks and replacing older equipment with faster, higher-capacity aircraft. Trans World Airlines used the type on passenger services where its combination of performance, capacity, and range matched contemporary traffic requirements.
