Braniff International Airways, N7270

Limited Edition

1:200 Scale   Length   Width
Boeing 727-100   8"   6.5"

Boeing 727-27C, serial number 19109, entered service with Braniff International Airways as N7270 in May 1966. The aircraft was the first 727-27C Quick Change delivered to Braniff, allowing it to be converted between passenger and cargo configurations. N7270 originally appeared in Alexander Girard's striking turquoise "Jellybean" color scheme, part of Braniff's revolutionary "End of the Plain Plane" campaign. Powered by three Pratt & Whitney JT8D engines, the 727 offered excellent short and medium haul performance. The convertible configuration allowed Braniff to maximize utilization by carrying passengers by day and freight when required.

Boeing 727-100

Designed as a smaller, short/medium-ranged complement to the 707, the 727 was first flown on February 9th, 1963.
