Boeing 727-228, entered service with Air France as F-GCDD. The aircraft joined Air France's narrowbody fleet and operated short and medium haul services from Paris to destinations throughout France, Europe, North Africa, and the Mediterranean. Configured for passenger operations, the 727-200 provided greater capacity than the earlier 727-100 while retaining excellent performance from shorter runways. Powered by three Pratt & Whitney JT8D turbofan engines, F-GCDD represented an important generation of Air France's domestic and European jet fleet before newer Airbus narrowbody aircraft gradually assumed these routes.
