Airbus A340-642, construction number 742, was delivered to Etihad Airways as A6-EHJ in 2007 during the airline's early long haul expansion. The aircraft became especially well known for wearing the special Grand Prix livery, applied to promote the Abu Dhabi Formula One Grand Prix and Etihad's growing global brand. A6-EHJ operated long haul services from Abu Dhabi to Europe, Asia, and Australia, featuring Etihad's three class cabin with first class suites, business class, and economy seating. Powered by Rolls Royce Trent 500 engines, the A340-600 offered long range capability and smooth performance. A6-EHJ later returned to standard colors before being retired as Etihad transitioned to more fuel efficient twin engine widebody aircraft.
Designed as a wide-bodied, long-haul passenger transport, the A340 was first flown on October 25th, 1991. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
