Boeing 747-200   7"   6"

Boeing 747-212B, operated by Pan American World Airways as N724PA. Pan Am reused the registration N724PA, which had previously belonged to one of its Boeing 707s, for a Boeing 747-200 during the airline's later years. The Jumbo Jet operated long haul international services in Pan Am's iconic blue globe livery and was photographed in service as late as 1990. Powered by four Pratt & Whitney JT9D engines, the 747-200 provided the range and capacity required for Pan Am's global network and represented the airline's enduring association with the aircraft it had helped introduce to commercial service in 1970.

Designed as a large capacity airliner and freight hauler, the 747 was first flown on February 9th, 1969.
