The Russian Air Force Aerobatic Team "Russian Knights" was formed in 1991 using aircraft and crews from the 237th Guards Proskurov Aircraft Demonstration Center at Kubinka, AB. They were originally equipped with 6 Su-27s but since 2016 have used 8 Su-30SM numbered from 30 through 37. The Russian flag appeared on the fins for the first year before being replaced with blue fins with stars. On November 7, 2019, a ceremony was held at Kubinka AB to introduce four multi-purpose single seat Su-35S that will replace the Su-30SMs.
Includes decal sheet to mark as the aircraft of your choice, #Blue 30 - Blue 37.
Designed as two-seat multi-role variant of the Su-27, the Su-30 was first flown (as the Su-27PU) on December 31, 1989. The design grew from a Soviet need for a long-range interceptor based on the Su-27 with the addition of a second pilot and retractable in-flight refuelling probe. Similar to the F-15E Strike Eagle, the Su-30 is still a highly capable Air Superiority Fighter while an advanced avionics suite make it formidable in the Air-to-Ground Strike Fighter role. The Su-30 has spawned numerous sub-variants, including several designed for the export market. © Copyright 2003-2024 The Flying Mule, Inc.
