Hobby Master 1:48 Air Power Series HA7408
Focke-Wulf Fw 190F Diecast Model
Luftwaffe I./SG 4, "White 6", Northern Italy, 1944

1:48 Scale   Length   Width
Focke-Wulf Fw 190F   7.25"   8.5"

In late 1943 all the various forms of ground-attack units were consolidated into one new ground-attack unit Schlachtgeschwader 4. The new unit consisted of I./SG 4, II./SG 4, III./SG4. This reorganization created a single Geschwader equipped solely with Fw-190’s. After suffering losses in late 1943 I./SG 4 was transferred to Piancenza Italy to rest and re-equip with Fw-190 F-8. In February 1944 I./SG4 and II./SG-4 were transferred to Viterbo Italy. The new Fw-190 F-8 was used to try and halt the Allied advances at Anzio and in the Cassino region. In July 1944 the entire squad was transferred to the northern USSR to help with the Defense of the Reich. It was quite common for I./SG 4 to wear desert camouflage and a spinner with a white spiral even when they weren’t in desert areas.

Focke-Wulf Fw 190F

Designed by Kurt Tank, the Fw-190A was first flown on June 1st, 1939. This small, yet ferociously-powered aircraft was fast and maneuverable and packed a fierce armament package earning it the nickname "Butcher Bird". The wide landing gear, excellent visibility and high-altitude paddle-bladed propeller endeared it to pilots familiar with the shortcomings of its predecessor - the Messerschmitt Bf 109. Some of the Luftwaffe's most famous fighter aces flew the Fw 190. Many variants were produced during the war, with the most notable being the inline-engine equipped and longer-nosed 190D, known as the "Dora."

Hobby Master's 1:48 scale Fw 190 is a quality model, assembled with exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail. Among this model's features are a solid metal wing with simulated fabric-stretched control surfaces, a 12-bladed cooling fan that spins in unison with the propeller, cylinder head cooling fins that are visible inside the cowling, individual exhaust stacks, removable center mounted fuel tank and a sliding canopy that reveals pad printed dials and gauges inside the cockpit. Variants in this series include the early 190A, the upgraded 190A with armor plating, and the 190F attack variant with larger canopy and removable center-mounted bombs.
