The 64th Aggressor Squadron is assigned to the 57th Wing at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada. It currently flies the F-16C Fighting Falcon aircraft, painted in camouflage schemes identical to those observed on Russian-manufactured aircraft, providing Air Combat Maneuvering training to USAF and other aviation forces in conjunction with Red Flag exercises.
Although the squadron does not fly the F-23, this model asks the question: What might an Aggressor Squadron F-23 have looked like? Wearing a three-tone splinter camouflage scheme similar to that of Russian Su-27 and Su-57 fighter jets, this model represents a ficticious Aggessor Squadron F-23 Black Widow II.
Designed to meet a US Air Force requirement for an Advanced Tactical Fighter (ATF) to replace the F-15 Eagle, the F-23 was first flown (as the YF-23 demonstrator) on August 27th, 1990. The USAF's ATF program aimed to produce a fifth-generation air superiority fighter that would be better matched against emerging new aircraft such as the Su-27 Flanker. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
