In 2017, the Republic of China Air Force (ROCAF) celebrated the 20th anniversary of its Mirage 2000-5 fleet, which entered service in 1997. To mark the occasion, a Mirage 2000-5 from Hsinchu Air Base was painted with this special livery. The Mirage fleet played a vital role in Taiwan's air defense, frequently intercepting Chinese military aircraft near the island. Despite aging airframes, the ROCAF continued to upgrade and maintain its Mirage 2000-5s, ensuring their effectiveness alongside F-16Vs and IDFs in Taiwan's multi-layered air defense strategy. Please note: This version of the model includes two R.550 Magic missiles, four MICA missles and three external fuel tanks. Designed as a lightweight fighter for the French Air Force, the Dassault Mirage 2000 was first flown on March 10th, 1978. The Mirage 2000 is a fourth generation fighter based on the Mirage III. It has a delta wing, one engine, a dual-intake, and can carry a range of air-to-surface weapons, including laser-guided bombs. Variants include a single-seat or dual-seat version. The dual-seat 2000N is nuclear strike capable, armed with nuclear weapons and equipped with navigation avionics that are capable of handling air-to-ground munitions. Hobby Master's 1:72 scale Mirage 2000 is a sleek diecast model with crisp panel lines, manufactured with only the smallest amount of plastic. The side mounted engine intakes with fixed inlet cones are constructed in plastic for greater accuracy and the configurable canopy provides a clear view of the instrument panel, control stick and ejection seat. The rear turbine blades are easily seen inside the exhaust nozzle and the large refueling probe is mounted on the nose (in most releases).
