31+31 of the Tactical Air Force Wing 31 "Boelke" is the latest German Eurofighter to receive an extraordinary color scheme: 2016 marks the 125th anniversary of the birth, but also the 100th anniversary of the death of famous fighter pilot and instructor Oswald Boelcke, remembered mainly for his "Dicta Boelcke", the first rules for tactical air warfare. In addition to a portrait of the WWI ace and an image of his last fighter, an Albatros D.II, these eight rules still followed today are applied on rudder and fuselage. Please note: An optional display stand is available separately if you wish to display this model "in-flight". Designed as part of a co-operative effort by Germany, Italy and the UK to produce an air superiority fighter, the Eurofighter was first flown on March 27th, 1994. The Eurofighter is a single-seat, twin-engine, agile combat aircraft used in air-to-air, air-to-ground and tactical reconnaissance roles. It is intentionally aerodynamically unstable, which gives it its high levels of agility-but this means the Typhoon is controlled by a computerized "fly by wire" system instead of by its pilot.
